Auroville Village Action Group (AVAG) is a NGO based in the south indian Tamil Nadu. There they are caring about the empowerment of rural people by training self-sufficient self-help-groups, clearing up tabooed topics and handing out micro-credits.
We support the NGO since our stay in India 2009 in fundraising and created the necessary communication basics, like logo and website, directly on-site.
The logo’s inner “flower” hab already been used in different applications by AVAG before, but also by related projects. So we used this basic icon and put it in a kind of frame where we attached the typography. This created a new, individual identity by still using the old icon in a central way, and in the same time makes it harder to use wrong, random typography.
